Hello,
My name is Dekel. I offer mindfulness-based therapy/practice geared towards self-growth, healing, and deep personal exploration. The meetings are held online or in person, and include meditation and conversation. You are invited to set up a preliminary phone call or join a group meditation via Zoom or in person in Tel Aviv.
On Mindfulness
In mindfulness practice, the practitioner increases their awareness of the internal experience and the perception of psychological processes, feelings, and unaware reactionary habits by learning to direct their attention to the felt experience. With this self understanding, one learns to better react to harsh feelings like anger, anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, and low motivation.
There are numerous techniques for self-exploration, and we will work according to the specific progress of the practitioner.
Deep observation allows for the easing of the heavy burdens we all carry on our shoulders, and in our hearts.
Experience
I have practiced mindfulness for nearly 20 years and am committed to the practice as a way of life. I have studied for long periods of time in different classic and modern schools and traditions around the world, including in the United States, England, Myanmar, Nepal, and Israel.
I hold a doctorate in sociology from New York University. Over my five years in New York, I facilitated discussion groups utilizing the method of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
I teach mindfulness in safe-house institutions, one-on-one via zoom, and offer group meetings for both beginners and more experienced practitioners.
